I've created this blog to try and document Blyth and the people from the markets. I will be updating as and when I get the images that I want to share. Please feel free to leave any comments. I will also be posting photographs of Blyth over the coming months.

Snapshots of my Final Major Project
So this is the culmination of the past three months' work on my Final Major Project. The people of Blyth were so generous in giving me their time and being able to take their photographs was a great experience for me. It was important to have a sense of location and you will see this in the images here. Most people looking at this will recognise the faces. My influences for this were Vivian Maier,Lee Jeffries,Mik Critchlow and Jimmy Forsyth to name but a few.
Frameworks Art Cafe
Thanks to Angela in Frameworks for stocking my photography in the shop. It's one of those places that has so many wonderful things to look at upstairs and down. There's a purple glass Art Deco side table in there which is just the most beautiful piece of furniture I have ever seen. Go and have a look, the quality is second to none. From unique greetings cards to items for the home.
I took this photo last year after the huge storm at the end of June and Bridge Street had flooded.I had never seen anything as bad as this in Blyth before and I dearly hope that nothing like that happens again. This image reminds me of the style of Eugene Atget and his documentation of the architecture in Paris. He used reflections in his images.
