Save our shops

I love this fruit shop in Blyth, half the price of Morrisons and lovely quality. I was sad to see this sign in the shop today and asked if I could publish it on my blog so others could see it. Don't let our small businesses go. Support your local shops and give them the trade they so desperately need.

 

                 So this was the market today ( Wednesday),very poor show. I counted only 4 stalls !

Now this would be a great place to photograph,all the art deco inside. Can't wait to see what they do with the building.

THE landmark Wallaw cinema in Blyth, which has stood empty since 2004, has been bought by pub chain JD Wetherspoon for £225,000.

It's always nice to put yourself in the frame. A little bit of influence from Vivian Maier,one of my all time favourite photographers. Her Street photography is some of the best I've seen.Amazing to think that people didn't know about her work until she died. It's an incredible injustice when you view some of her work. She has been a huge inspiration to me over the past few years.

A big thanks to Mark for making me a much needed cuppa after those incredibly strong winds a couple of weeks ago. He pointed out his 5 star rating so I had to get it in the shot. Great to see the local traders buying form him and keeping on the market. If I wasn't on a diet I would have had one of those bacon butties,by God they looked wonderful !!

 

 

Well,i'm off down to the Council Building at the Quayside soon . I was invited to a presentation which includes the winning photographers for the 2013 calendar competition.
This was my entry.
